2014 – Lucidflow – E4

Beatport : http://btprt.dj/1IX9KBu E4 is the fourth and final part of Klartraum’s series that has been arriving in bitesized chunks throughout the year. Here, the E in E4 stands for Enneagram, which is a way to classify which personality type you belong to. In other words, it describes which ‘lens you see your reality’ and in which stage of your personal development you made this decision. This philosophy is derived from the teachings of Quantum Psychologist Dr. Stephen Wolinsky, a huge inspiration to the Klartraum pairing of Nadja Lind and Helmut Ebritsch, even to the extent of sampling his seminars, such as on previous pieces like Aaron or through their live performances. Now the collection has converged into a whole album as promised, the cover art segments merged into one full Enneagram. It is fitting that the finale is possibly the finest of the lot, saving the best til last. Bell Birds Dub sets the tone by exquisitely moving through deep dub darkness with only the briefest sun shafts shining through. Bill Bill ramps up the tension, continuing the dub theme but increasing the tempo. Hidden deep in the mix is a low constant held string, the very antithesis of the classic disco string. Treated to two excursions, Holy Grail, in its mammoth Cinematic Mix form, is twelve minutes of introverted awesome. It is a slow burner, taking time to evolve into a low slung piece of soundtracky acid, being right up the with the very best that the Klartraum pairing have ever offered. The Club Mix is no slouch though, lopping the runtime in half and giving little...

2014 – Lucidflow – E3

E3 is the 3rd part of Klartraum‘s series that is being released at quarterly intervals throughout this year. Here the E in E3 stands for Enneagram, which is a way to classify which personality type you belong to. In other words, it describes which ‚lens you see your reality‘ and in which stage of your personal development you made this decision. This philosophy is derived from the teachings of Quantum Psychologist Dr. Stephen Wolinsky, a huge inspiration to the Klartraum paring of Nadja Lind and Helmut Ebritsch, even to the extent of sampling his seminars, such as on Aaron or through their live performances. By the end of the year the 4 parts will converge into a whole album where, all 4 cover art segments will be merged into one full Enneagram. For now, we dip down into this third part, where we see Klartraum walking the fine line between deep and club like only they know how to. No balance beam, no safety net, complete mastery. The EP kicks off with key cut Drama Queen, it swings and wiggles before developing with a 70‘s detective mystery edge. In a similar vein, if every so slightly more noir-ish, Flight To Berlin (Flight Club Live Mix) exudes introverted atmosphere thanks to the wistful muted trumpet – provided here by AKA AKA collaborator Thalstroem – and those signature Klartraum velvet keys. Then, for those wishing to completely lose themselves in the moment, you could do no wrong in heading to the full version that props up the end of the EP, where the track is reduced down into a slow churning...

cover art by Aaron B. get E1 it on beatport Klartraum – E1 get E2 it on beatport Klartraum – E2 RELEASE DATE 2014-05-19 LABELS Lucidflow CATALOG # LF060 E2 is the second part of a quarterly EP series from German duo Klartraum, with the following two instalments due to follow later this year. The E stands for Enneagram, a model of human personality that allows you to describe or to find out through which lens you see your reality. Author Stephen Wolinsky has written a book on the subject and it is something that permeates the work of Klartraum. Helmut Ebritsch and Nadja Lind are Klartraum, the duo that has defined many different shades of house & techno music on a number of labels but mainly their own Lucidflow, which has been active since 2009. Here they offer up four more conceptual tracks that follow on perfectly from the first chapter. The opening track here, Sky Fall’ was created from scratch when Felix Baumgartner jumped from the stratosphere in his famed stunt last year. The club mix version of it is a liquid and funky bit of house that is all off balance and wavy. Warm synths, spacious atmospheric pads and great panning effects all make for a bit of pensive tech that also manages to make you dance. Next up is Celebration’, the free flowing and beautifully synthetic tech track with loopy percussive sounds, rattling hooks and a slinky sense of groove that makes you want to shake your limbs. Tree of Life’ steps away from the dancefloor to explore slowly unfolding rhythms, lumpy drums and atmospheric pads...

2013 – Secret Moon Remixed

http://www.beatport.com/release/secret-moon-remixed/1182035 As label bosses of Lucidflow, Nadja Lind and Helmut Ebritsch are afforded the luxury of dictating their music vision as they wish. This culminated in last year’s Secret Moon, the second studio album of the pairing, focussing on their fluid dub laden house grooves. This year has the other major benefit of being label bosses come in to play, with the Secret Moon remix project seeing friends and inspirations drafted in to contribute. The remix project has already seen two vinyl editions released, showcasing the remixes from Alexi Delano, D. Diggler and David Alvarado from the first 12”, and Ian Pooley, Weisses Licht and Vince Watson featuring on the second slab of wax. Proving to be a different prospect entirely, the digital edition is a mammoth collection of 19 remixes. Something Wrong – Darkroom Dubs’ Of Norway turn in a tech-disco workout, with Chris Manura tearing up the rulebook for a smooth drum’n’bass workout. Secret Moon – fresh from his resoundingly received Live On Cubism Vol 2, Saytek turns in a dark and cavernous reworking, with Alexi Delano providing a lighter and more breathless take. Beatport Universe – Brickman retains Klartraum’s style with a remix that teams punchy kicks and muted dub textures, while Harlem Knights decide to ramp up the emotional impact with rising strings. Kazantrip – D.Diggler aims to rumble subs with a Live Dub that dominates the low end, while David Alvarado’s touch carries all the menace of an approaching wasp. Diving Dancer – the experience of Ian Pooley tells with a smooth house re-rub of Diving Dancer, the twanging dub chords driving every beat,...
